What happens on your device?

The app processes the cells you draw, patterns you place, simulation generations, speed, board position and undo history locally to run Conway’s Game of Life. The current implementation keeps this experiment state in memory; it does not upload it or create a cloud-synced experiment account.

The app contains no advertising SDK or developer-operated analytics or crash-reporting SDK. It does not request access to contacts, photos, microphone, camera or device location. Playing does not require registration or an internet connection.

Clearing your board and deleting data

Clear board resets the visible experiment. Undo can still restore earlier board states during the same session. Fully closing the app ends its in-memory simulation and undo history. Removing the app removes its app container on the device; offloading an app is different from deleting it.

I do not run a server-side Living Cells account or hold copies of your board, so there is no developer account to delete and no copy of your simulation for me to retrieve. This does not prevent you from making a request about support messages you have sent.

Apple’s services

Apple handles App Store downloads and any store transactions independently. Apple may provide developers with store reports and diagnostics according to Apple’s systems and the sharing choices on your device. That is separate from an analytics SDK inside Living Cells. See App Store & Privacy and Apple’s privacy information.

Living Cells itself has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. It does not sell or share your local simulation data. It has no consent-based advertising processing to switch on or withdraw.

Children and learners

The app does not ask for a learner’s name, age, email address or school details. If you send a support request, include only what is needed to explain the problem; a parent, guardian or teacher can write on a child’s behalf.

Support messages and this website

If you contact me, I process your reply address, any name you supply, message content and attachments to answer the enquiry. Email providers handle message delivery and mailbox operation. General support relies on the legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); contract-related support may rely on Article 6(1)(b), and mandatory records on Article 6(1)(c).

Correspondence is retained while handling the request and reasonably expected follow-up, then deleted unless a legal retention period or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims requires longer storage. You can request deletion, subject to those obligations.

Opening these web pages is separate from using the native app. Cloudflare Pages request processing, website cookies and email handling are explained in the website privacy policy. Website hosting does not run the native app or store your game board or progress.

Your rights and privacy requests

Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and, where applicable, portability of your personal data. You may object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interests. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in the law.

Contact appsupport@morgler.com for a request involving information I hold, including support correspondence. I do not have access to unsent data on your device. For data held independently by Apple, use the controls and contact routes in Apple’s linked privacy information; I can help identify the appropriate recipient.

You may complain to a data protection authority, particularly in the EU member state where you live, work, or an alleged infringement occurred. The Hessian authority provides a complaint channel.

Changes

This notice will be updated if the app’s data practices change. Any change to the app’s features that affects privacy will be reflected here.
